William Amor
THE WORDS FROM ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD, OUR CURATOR :
IN SEARCH OF SUBLIMATION
The circular economy is opposed to the linear economy: rather than taking, consuming and then throwing away, this model encourages sustainable production by limiting the waste of resources and the production of waste. Because of its ubiquity, plastic is highly concerned by this model: each year, Europe generates 25 million tons of plastic waste, of which only 30% is collected for recycling.
The French artist William Amor achieves a feat: to amaze with this material. By revisiting the gestures of the traditional flower arrangers and feather makers, he turns this waste, indestructible and from non-renewable resources, into a delicate and sensual flower. These creations are like manifestos, reminding us that the worst can become the best as long as we give the necessary time, importance and know-how to the solution.
The Caring Gallery is committed to donating 10% of the sale of this work to ASF, the partner association of the exhibition.
