"Can we expect a more sustainable and desirable world in the years to come? At The Caring Gallery, we believe we can! And to the question of how, we answer with one word: attention. The one we give to others of course, but also the one that allows us to question our way of living and doing. How can we limit the waste of our resources and reduce the production of our waste? The issue of sustainability is at the heart of all the reflections and to answer it, citizens, cities and companies pay a new attention to what seems to be useless because already produced, already used, already thrown away. They are innovating in their practices through an idea that is both simple and revolutionary: the circular*."
AnneSophie Bérard, curator of the exhibition
*45% of the CO2 emissions that need to be reduced to meet the objectives of the Paris agreements can be reduced through a more circular economy, which would focus on eco-design, repairability, reconditioning, up-cycling and recycling of the products we consume.
A PATH TO DISCOVER BY ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD:
The exhibition AGAIN AND AGAIN brings together nine French and international artists who also embrace this notion of cycle. By making tangible the impact of our productions and our unreasonable consumption, or by making the waste and the refuse the source of their creation, they open our minds to new practices oh so necessary. Sculpture, drawing, photography, diverted object, digital work... The whole of their explorations gives birth to an original space of inspiration to become aware that other possibilities can exist, as long as we consider them.
Through the NGO Ateliers Sans Frontières, partner of this exhibition, we connect it to the commitment of those who act on the ground: 10% of the sales of works will be donated to them to help them in their mission. We hope that this exhibition will give rise to new desires as well as questions, because we know that it is in doubt that intelligence is found. Again, and always.
