THE WORDS FROM ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD, OUR CURATOR :
IGNORANCE IS NOT A SOLUTION
The IPCC* recommends redoubling efforts by stepping up climate financing in the short term and investing in research and development in the long term. More than ever, immediate global political action is therefore essential: yet the deployment of effective government action remains weak. What signals and warnings could convince them of the imminent urgency to act?
The French artist Raphaël Guez uses technology to project us completely into what seems so difficult to admit. Using 3d and special effects, the artist builds short animations of a post-apocalyptic world. The glaciers have melted, the cities have become deserted. All that remains is the strange and poetic trace of our passage: here an abandoned mailbox, there a neglected metro station... The history that the artist imagines seems to have unfolded along the path that we are currently tracing, with full knowledge of the causes.
