At Atelier sans frontières, we believe that no one is unemployable. This is why we welcome people in situations of great social and professional exclusion. We help them to find a job. Because having a job means finding one's place in society, establishing social ties and having the means to live with dignity.
Ateliers sans frontières (ASF) is a workshop for integration located in the Val-de-Marne. For more than 20 years, it has been welcoming people in situations of exclusion (refugees, disabled people, long-term unemployed). We offer paid work to each of them according to their abilities and skills: preparing packages, reconditioning used computers, reusing glass.
We believe that sustainable reintegration is only possible in a healthy and secure environment: this is why we help our employees to carry out the administrative procedures necessary to live in decent housing, to move around independently, etc.
A whole team is mobilized around each person on a daily basis: team leaders who supervise the work of the employees, and support managers who meet with the people in individual interviews. ASF is also a community that knows how to celebrate good news: employees organize convivial moments, and the career paths of former employees are posted in the refectory to inspire new employees. We are proud of the fact that each year we enable 75 people in situations of exclusion to find a job and, above all, confidence in themselves and in their projects.
In 2023, approximately 15% of French people will be living below the monetary poverty line. More than 2 million people currently receive the RSA and the health crisis has only worsened the situation. While necessary, this assistance income is not enough to live with dignity and does not replace the stability and confidence that a stable job provides. At Ateliers sans frontières, we are convinced that no one is unemployable and we want to give everyone the chance to bounce back.
Commitment, benevolence, team spirit, trust and professionalism: these are the five values we rely on to make Ateliers sans frontières a warm place that allows everyone to bounce back. We give meaning to the work of our employees in reintegration: by reconditioning computers, they allow other people in need to get one at low cost.
Reinsertion by upgrading is what motivates our action every day. We want to give a chance to excluded people but also to transform the vision that the working world has of them. We know how much these people can bring to a team, rich with their backgrounds and life experience.
