THE MUTATION OF LANDSCAPES
Nature has rights to defend, in the same way as human beings. In the world, a dozen bodies of water have already obtained to be considered as a recognized legal personality: let us quote for example the Corsican river Tavignagnu, protected since 2021 by "the right to exist, to live [...] and not to be polluted". To fight for the recognition of Nature as a legal personality, is to engage a deep ecological transition, and to preserve the habitability of the Earth.
What will we bring back as a "travel souvenir" if we continue to neglect the Earth that welcomes us? As an answer, the French artist Florent Lamouroux makes snow globes. In each river, he collects plastic particles that agglomerate on the surface of the water. Then he mixes them before enclosing them in a blown glass sphere. All that remains is to shake the object and to notice that, contrary to artificial snow, the plastic will always end up on the surface...
