Manon Pellan is a draughtswoman based in the Paris region since 2012. She works with different techniques, but places the graphite pencil at the center of her practice.

If the color invites itself on the paper, she does it in a tension with the white background and the graphic line of the pencil. When she draws, she tries to be as close as possible to the detail, to observe it in a very meticulous way by isolating precisely each part of the object: the whole then takes on an abstract character. What emerges is a space that sometimes reveals the texture of a dream, of a fabric, of a presence, while leaving a void, an interstice in the questions that the artist may have about the medium itself...
It is most often the elements of his daily life that build a beginning of reflection in his work, evoking the fragility, the absence, the intimacy, the fear, the emptiness, the repulsion, questionings which mark out our existence and through the drawing, simply testify of our passage, and our death.
