Born in 1985 in Paris.
Graduated from the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg in 2010, Mathilde Caylou is an artist whose work with glass is placed at the frontier of contemporary art and artisanal practice. While she discovered this material in the workshops of the School, she was immediately conquered by its work, its ability to transform and its power of evocation, it became the main medium of her approach. The works she imagines rub shoulders with the visible and the invisible, responding to a field of research oriented towards the landscape, the environment, agriculture and the way in which man shapes, transforms his "mid-place". From 2009 to 2020, she has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Her creations have been presented in several European countries (France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany,...) as well as on a larger international scale such as in China or the USA. Recently, she was selected to participate in a program of the Académie des savoir-faire de la Fondation Hermès, the glass for this edition.
