Tatenda Chidora
Ilford Cotton Rag 310gsm
THE WORDS FROM ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD, OUR CURATOR :
SUBLIMATING OUR VULNERABILITY
In Tatenda Chidora's Zamo II, an albino man delicately holds a branch, assuming his singularity as much as his fragility. The other photograph shows a man whose face, hidden by a veil, evokes all that we hide from ourselves. Tatenda's work sublimates our vulnerabilities and reminds us that all living beings have the same value.
Born in Zimbabwe and based in South Africa, Tatenda Chidora is inspired by the people he encounters in his daily life to celebrate unconventional beauty and to participate in a more diverse representation of the faces of the African continent.
The Caring Gallery is committed to donating 10% of the sale of this work to the partner association of the exhibition.
