Yann Bagot
THE WORDS FROM ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD, OUR CURATOR :
How can we capture the living memory of time? In his immersive drawings of rocks, made in large format and with Indian ink, the artist Yann Bagot reproduces his experience of the elements, on the Breton coast or in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest. The large masses of Indian ink anchor the rocks in the ground while the white evokes areas of variation and movement: those of the sky, the air, the water...
Capturing the present moment, the mineral material is explored here in its relationship to time, revealing a rhythm of the world that concerns us as much as it escapes us. The marks of erosion remind us of the cycle of life, reviving the memory of stones as much as that of our past.
