THE WORDS FROM ANNESOPHIE BÉRARD, OUR CURATOR :
Dressed in pyjamas - the same in all his works - artist Fabien Merelle shares his dreams with us. Some may attract us, others may frighten us, but they all lead us back to the same place: that of childhood. The marvellous thing about this place is that our imagination can live without bending to what reality would have us believe. Just look: whether he is embraced in his father's arms or sheltered against his wife's rounded belly, Fabien Mérelle ignores so-called masculine behaviour to deliver an ode to tenderness and fragility. Is there a more beautiful way than dreaming to change reality ?
