“To survive after the fall of the Soviet Union in the 1990s, my parents had to leave the city and move to a small town where they created a self-sufficient farm. I was raised surrounded by animals in the middle of nature. (...) The living is at the center of all my creations. The stories I tell in my drawings tell of the links that unite us with the organic, the vegetable or the animal, with a nature that is also part of us.”
The work Equal forces chosen for the exhibition "Dreaming of Better Days" is a composition of ink and thread on perforated paper. It seems to illustrate a delicate and sensitive balance between organisms, like a mutual regeneration. In Odonchimeg Davaadorj's cosmogony, the telluric power of the tree and the combined energy of human frailties are on the same level, at equal strength.
